With hospital reimbursement now being tied to value-based care, administrators must focus on the following in order to survive:

  • Quality of care
  • Patient satisfaction
  • Cost

The good news is—effective teamwork impacts all of the above. And at Trust Capital Institute®, we know how to create cultures of trust at the heart of effective teamwork.

Consulting. Our consulting services begin with benchmarking. The Trustworthiness Indicator™ provides a baseline measure of the research-based elements behind trust. A social network analysis identifies where trust is strong, weak, or absent between key departments and constituencies in your hospital. These baselines not only serve as reference points from which to gauge your progress, but provide the business intelligence you need to generate goals that add real value.

Unless trust issues are identified and addressed, other improvement efforts could be futile—and costly. A trust-based culture creates the solid foundation from which to springboard your quality improvement efforts. Forming a strong, healthy culture (“how” your organization works together) will enable your quality improvement efforts (“what” to improve) to flourish. Our expertise in the areas of strategy, Lean Six Sigma, quality improvement, change management, communications, and marketing can help you take your organization to the next level.

Training and Coaching. Investing in the development of healthcare providers, leaders, and administrators enables them to perform their best. We believe that true culture change takes place when leaders are effective role models. Our training and coaching begins at the top, then cascades throughout your hospital. We provide coaching for executives and teams, so everyone is equipped to succeed.

Based on research and years of experience with what works, our proprietary Trust Infusion™ model is comprehensive yet simple and practical. You won’t find the variety of disciplines behind our thought leadership in any other firm. Governments, insurers, health systems, and employers are moving to adopt bundled payment approaches.1 If an ACO succeeds in delivering high-quality care at a cost below what would have been expected, it shares in the savings.

A culture of teamwork across professional and organizational silos—and with patients, families and communities—will enable ACOs to deliver greater value.2

Consulting. We begin our consulting services with benchmarking measures. The Trustworthiness Indicator™ gauges your ACO’s levels of the research-based elements behind trust. A social network analysis identifies where trust between the key constituencies in your ACO is strong, weak, or absent. We utilize a tool developed over 35 years ago by a renowned Harvard anthropologist.

Conducting an adequate assessment leads to a proper diagnosis so that an effective plan can be determined and implemented. We utilize a consulting approach that engages people along the way, so everyone gets on board.

Training and Coaching. We know how to create trust-based cultures at the heart of effective teams, and we pass that knowledge on to you. Our training utilizes the proprietary Trust Infusion™ service offerings based on research and years of experience with what works. We have been on the frontline of care for over 35 years. You won’t find the variety of disciplines behind our thought leadership in any other firm.

After training comes coaching—for leaders and teams—so that everyone can develop the capabilities that lead to collaboration, effective teamwork, efficiency, and quality care. That’s the formula for success.

Health Profession Schools

Interprofessional collaborative practice is key for safe, high quality, accessible, patient-centered care.3

Health profession schools that want to prepare students to enter the workforce ready to practice effective team-based care need to promote interprofessional collaborative education. Development of interprofessional collaborative competencies requires moving beyond profession-specific educational efforts to engage students of different professions in interactive learning with each other.3

Course Design & Development. Our interprofessional collaborative education course design and development utilizes the Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice framework developed by an expert panel of representatives from six health professions. Based on a thorough review of existing materials and practices, the framework reflects consensus working definitions of interprofessional education and interprofessional collaborative practice, and defines a core set of competencies designed to prepare clinicians for interprofessional collaborative practice.

We then build on this framework by integrating elements of our proprietary Trust Infusion™ service offerings. Based on an extensive literature review from a variety of disciplines, along with our own research and years of experience with what works, the Trust Infusion™ service offerings get at what’s behind collaborative teamwork—so we can help you build those competencies.

Training and Coaching. If you want to know something, teach it. Preparing you to offer interprofessional collaborative education includes training those who will deliver the course—because students learn from the examples you set.

And to help your faculty apply the material, we provide periodic coaching which utilizes a feedback process that works because it creates an effective environment for learning.
